I am honored to be co-listing the above pictured home at
6 Maher Avenue. There will be an open house Sunday from 2-4 p.m. I made a typo in the last newsletter saying it was built in 2012, that should have said 1912.
I grew up in California and moved from San Francisco to Brooklyn. Once my wife and I had the twins we decided to move to the burbs. Every day we are thankful to have ended up on Maher Avenue. The convenient "walkability" of the street was most important to us moving from San Francisco and Brooklyn. We have the opportunity to walk the twins to the elementary school every morning, and the little one to preschool. We walk to Whole Foods, Starbucks, Wuji, and Asiana just at the end of the block. Not to mention the times we walk to Greenwich Avenue for dinner and shopping.
However, the aspect of Maher Avenue we love the most is the community. We are known as the Halloween street through town as we get the most trick or treaters. Yet, what other residents do not know is that we have a block party and a holiday pageant that has gone on for over 100 years, handed down from child to child over the years. All of the kids that live on the neighboring streets get together and rehearse for a couple of weeks in December then one night the community gets together and the kids act out a scene at a neighbor's house, with a reception following at another neighbor's house.
These are the type of events that I cannot put in a brochure, postcard or an ad, but are all of the reasons I feel so lucky to live on this street because of the incredible friendships from these types of activities. The only downfall to living on the street is that I live there and that for sure would deter value :)
If you read the blog you know I love old homes. This home built in 1912 blends the original charm throughout with the renovations for today's owners. A beautiful covered porch to sit and enjoy a cocktail, newly refinished floors, a granite appointed center isle kitchen, spacious master with bath and custom walk in closet, as well as an open third floor with play area and bath. This 4 bedroom 3 full and one half bath is listed for $2.15M. Please call me at

I was named one of "America's Best Real Estate Agents" by
Real Trends. I would not have made such an elite list if it wasn't for the amount of people that subscribe to the blog and those of you who have chosen me to represent you in one of the most important decisions. It truly means a lot to me that your trust in me has given me the opportunity to be recognized in this way. Thank you. Please do not hesitate to email (
jrandall@houlihanlawrence.com) or call
(203-273-1034) if I can assist in any way.
I have paid to open the MLS to you, so feel free to
search properties based on your own parameters or set up a portal to get notifications on a customized search. For readers that just follow on the Greenwich Patch I will not be posting all entries on the patch. You can read all postings at
www.greenwichrealestateguy.com/blog. If easier, please
subscribe here to receive each post.
Here are the 72 open homes for Sunday October 30th.
